Aamir Khan launches music video for Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan

Aamir Khan is one of those few Indian celebrities who is doing his part in solving his country’s problems. His talk show ‘Satyame Jayate’ that was first aired on 6th May 2012, has been very keen about bringing the nation’s problems to light. Every episode focussed on a problem and the actor has done his best part in requesting the government for a solution.

In 2016, Aamir Khan and his wife Kiran Rao along with the Maharashtra Government introduced the ‘Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan’. It aimed to make the villages of the state drought free in 5 years. As a part of this scheme, the Satyamev Jayate Water Cup was conducted in 2016, which was a competition between villages to conserve water.

Taking this competition to its second edition, Aamir has decided to launch a music video marking the 2nd year of this contest. This music video has been made with the help of the team ‘Sairat’. ‘Sairat’ is a Marathi movie released in the year 2016. The movie starring Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar in the lead roles, has music composed by the music composer duo Ajay-Atul. The same cast has been roped in for Aamir’s music video which would be directed by Nagraj Manjule (director of Sairat). Guru Thakur has penned down the lyrics and Kiran Rao herself has rendered her voice to the song.

Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao launched this music video in Mumbai on the 3rd of January. In his speech, Aamir thanked Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra for his cooperation and support towards ‘Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyan’.
