Bollywood Shehanshah Amitabh Bachchan might be 74, but his energy and spirit of hard work must be a real eye-opener for the younger generation. Well, then people loves Amitabh irrespective of caste, creed, region or even language. Above all his baritone voice seems to reach the audience and for this sake, even our Union Government has felt that this actor’s voice really chords well with the viewers to create awareness.
Now we hear that the 74-year old actor has been roped in by the Union Government to be the brand ambassador to create an awareness on GST (Good Service Tax) just ahead of the implementation of GST become effective from July 1, 2017. The Central Board of Excise and Customs will be making the 74-year-old Bachchan brand ambassador for GST. A 40-second video featuring him has already been shot and is being circulated.
In a statement, the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has tweeted about the performance of Mr. Bachchan in the video in which the actor has in fact stated that GST is an unifying force just like the three colours in the national flag. GST is an initiative to create ‘’one nation, one tax, one market,’’ the finance minister has tweeted.
It is true that Bachchan has been the brand face of Union government and his voice and video performance was the face of PM Modi’s initiative, the ’’Swach Bharat Abhiyaan’’ along with Anushka Sharma for nationwide health and sanitation campaign.
It is true, it takes a star with maximum reach and impact across India to be chosen as the face of a nationwide campaign for GST.
