The multi-talented Farhan Akhtar is all ready for a new movie ‘Lucknow Central’.

Set against the backdrop of a jail, Lucknow Central stars Farhan Akhtar playing a prisoner who forms a band along with other jail inmates.A massive set (of the jail) has been built across two acres in Film City, Mumbai.

Producer Nikkhil Advani wanted to ensure that the sets look as realistic as possible, so he hired a team of inmates to make the jail walls look authentic.

Bringing alive the vibe of the heartland, the Farhan Akhtar starrer narrates the quirky and humorous journey of a small town man, whose circumstances lead to him landing up in jail, a statement said. “We are extremely excited about this project as it’s a very unique concept set against the backdrop of a jail and its inmates.

The stellar ensemble cast adds further charm and intrigue to the film and we can’t wait to bring this captivating drama to the viewers,” said Nikkhil Advani of Emmay Entertainment, which is backing the movie with Viacom18 Motion Pictures.

The walls are full of positive thoughts to inspire the prisoners, giving them an opportunity to improve and change their bad habits and start life afresh.

Reportedly, Farhan will be playing the role of an aspiring Bhojpuri actor in the film. The actor is always up for some kind of experimentation and this time he has thought of something different.

The star will be seen as a big fan of Bhojpuri actor Manoj Tiwari and his role will appear in that way.

Reports to be believed Farhan Akhtar wanted to connect to the mass amount of people. Hence this role. The story and character feel more connected to the people of Uttar Pradesh The people over there are crazy fans of Bhojpuri movies.

‘Lucknow Central’ marks the directorial debut of Ranjit Tiwari and also features Diana Penty,Gippy Grewal, Deepak Dobriyal, Ronit Roy and Rajesh Sharma in pivotal roles.
