Lenovo launches Legion Y520, Legion Y720 powerful gaming laptops in India

The Chinese PC and tablet manufacturer Lenovo on Wednesday launched its two latest “Legion” brand of gaming laptops in the country. Legion brand brings with it two new powerful gaming laptop models — Legion Y520 and Y720, which are priced at Rs. 92,490 and Rs. 1,49,990 respectively. The two gaming machines are aimed at casual and professional gamers and enthusiasts, as they come with dedicated gaming powers. However, the Lenovo Legion Y520 and Lenovo Y720 will be available on e-commerce website Flipkart and Lenovo India official e-store thedostore.com, with pre-bookings starting on May 19. The company also announced that pre-booking on Flipkart includes a flat exchange offer discount of Rs. 20,000. Both laptops are powered by Intel’s seventh-generation Core processors and feature Nvidia’s discrete graphics cards as well. Both the laptops will be made available in Black colour and come with Lenovo’s Nerve Sense feature that allows gamers to easily customize few settings such as audio, active keys, cooling, network priority and much more on their PC.

Starting with the Legion Y520 specifications, the Legion Y520 comes with a 15.6-inch full-HD IPS anti-glare display with a screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The Legion Y520 is powered by the new 7th generation Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor coupled with 16GB of DDR4 2400MHz RAM (two 8GB DDR4 RAM). The new gaming laptop comes with NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1050Ti graphics card with 4GB GDDR5 video memory for powerful performance and flawless gaming visuals. In terms of storage, users get the option of 1 TB SATA HDD storage combined with 128 GB PCIe SSD.

Ports on the device include two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, one USB 3.0 Type-C port, one USB 2.0 port, one HDMI port, one Audio Jack port, one Microphone Jack port, one RJ45 LAN Ethernet port, and 4-in-1 Card Reader slot (SD, SDHC, SDXC, MMC). The connectivity options offered by the laptop include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1. Talking about its software fronts, Lenovo Legion Y520 runs on Windows 10 64-bit version. The Legion Y520 has an aluminum-brushed body with an optional red backlit keyboard that provides 1.7 mm of key travel. The laptop measures at 380 x 265 x 25.8 mm and and weighs 2.4kg. The laptop also features 2 x 2W Harman™ Kardon speakers and Dolby Audio™ Premium for an outstanding audio quality even without headphones. Lenovo Legion Y520 has been claimed to deliver a battery life of up to 4 hours.

Legion Y720 specifications and features: –

On the other hand, the Legion Y720 also sports a 15.6-inch full-HD IPS anti-glare display with a screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The Legion Y720 is powered by the new 7th generation Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor (2.80GHz 6MB cache) coupled with 16GB of DDR4 2400MHz RAM (two 8GB DDR4 RAM). The Legion Y720 comes with an NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1060 graphics and 6GB of GDDR5 video memory for powerful performance – it has been certified by Oculus as VR-ready, as per company’s claims. In terms of storage, users get the option of 1TB 5400 RPM HDD storage combined with 256 GB PCIe SSD.

Ports on the device include three USB 3.0 ports, a Thunderbolt 3 port (USB Type-C), one HDMI port, one Audio Jack port, one Microphone Jack port, one RJ45 LAN Ethernet port, and a DisplayPort. The connectivity options offered by the laptop include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1. Talking about its software fronts, Lenovo Legion Y720 runs on Windows 10 64-bit version. The laptop also features 2 x 2W JBL Speakers and 3W Subwoofer Dolby Atmos for an outstanding audio quality. The Legion Y520 has been described as “world’s first Dolby Atmos Windows based PC.” Lenovo Legion Y720 packs a 60 WHr Li-Polymer 4 Cell Battery and that has been claimed to deliver a battery life of up to 5 hours. The laptop measures at 380 x 277 x 29 mm and weighs 3.2 kg.
