Paedophile Briton held for sexually assaulting minor blind children

A 54-year-old paedophile British national was arrested by Delhi Police for allegedly sexually assaulting minor blind children in National association for the blind (NAB) in south Delhi’s RK Puram.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, south district, Chinmay Biswal, said the accused has been identified as Murray Ward who is a frequent visitor and also associated as a regular donor with NAB, a home for the visually challenged, for the last eight to nine years.

Enquiry revealed that accused Murray Ward, a British National and a frequent visitor, associated as a regular donor with NAB for the last eight to nine years has subjected three minors, all blind residents of NAB, to paedophilic sexual harassment on September 2,” said the Additional DCP

A police source said one staff member of the NAB was an eyewitness to the crime committed by the accused and he immediately complained to the police and after registering a case under sections of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act and arrested him.

The senior police official said the accused is a resident of Henely Cottage, Ampney Crucis in Gloucestershire in the United Kingsdom and was working till April this year with Sterlite Technology Limited in Gurgaon.

Police said that in 2017, he had suffered a paralytic attack and since then he has been under treatment.

The accused as per preliminary investigation, is found to be a paedophile. His cell phone is being examined. His Macbook laptop contains objectionable video clips,” said Additonal DCP Biswal.

The accused was immediately apprehended, medically examined and then arrested and produced before a Delhi Court for obtaining his Police Custody to fish out more information regarding his activities.

Further investigation in the matter is on.

NAB has been working since 1979 for visually impaired persons. It is registered as a non-profit organisation.
