United States President Donald Trump ended his second week in office with yet another controversy. Trump in his scheduled call with the Australian PM Malcolm Turnbull refused to honor a agreement signed by the Obama Administration. Also, abruptly ended the phone call. In his call with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto he apparently threatened to send US military to Mexico.
Last Friday, President Trump spoke on the phone with Mexican President Enrique Nieto. According to transcripts obtained by CNN, Trump tried to “Tough Talk” with his Mexican counterpart. Trump expressed displeasure to Nieto on mexico’s war on drugs. He even threatened to send US troops to mexico to take care of “Tough Hombres”(Hombre is a Spanish word for man). In the phone call Trump told Nieto that “You aren’t doing enough to stop them. I think your military is scared. Our military isn’t, so I just might send them down to take care of it.”. According to sources, Trump also threatened to levy heavy taxes on Mexican imports.
When asked about his talk with Nieto, Trump assured people of more of his “Tough Talks”. According to Trump virtually every country in the world had been taking advantage of US and he was going to stop this.
Then on Saturday President Trump had a phone call with the Australian PM Malcolm Turnbull. Before his phone call Trump tweeted this:
The Deal was agreed by President Obama with PM Turnbull on humanitarian grounds. Australia does not allow any refugee who arrive by boat to set foot on its land. These refugees are instead housed at Manus island and Papua New Guinea. Therefore, Former President Obama agreed to take these refugees.
When this issue was brought up during the phone call tempers flared up. Trump allegedly accusing Turnbull of sending the next “Boston Bombers” to USA.
In his two weeks as President, Trump has managed to anger the public of USA, anger two world leaders. Therefore, spread panic and nervousness throughout the world. Let’s hope the situation becomes better with time.
