In a grim reminder of the VVIP culture, Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad hit an Air India staff with his slipper over business class sitting issue.
“Yes, I hit him. He misbehaved with me,” Gaikwad said when asked about his action.”I hit him with my slipper 25 times. Did you hear the way he was speaking with me? I am from the Shiv Sena, I am not from the BJP to tolerate abuses.”he said.
“Yes,I had hit the staff. Do you expect me to hear their abuses quietly?” Gaikwad said.
“Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad hit an Air India staff member with his slipper over seating issues. We have constituted a team to probe the whole incident,” Air India spokesperson said,adding, “It has been learned that the scuffle broke out over the seating issue.”
The first time MP from Maharashtra’s Osmanabad Gaikwad was travelling from Pune to New Delhi when scuffle broke out over the sitting arrangement.
Gaikwad had booked a business class seat on a Pune to Delhi flight and was later informed about a change in fleet, resulting in his seat being converted to an economy seat.
Gaikwad also said that Civil Avaiation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju should take notice about how Air India is functioning.
According to reports, it was a New Delhi-Pune flight which landed in the national capital at 11 am on Thursday,the report says.
