Ryan Reynolds returns again in his superhero avatar with Deadpool 2. Reynolds reportedly launched the teaser online this weekend, on YouTube. Reynold’s Deadpool 2 teaser is being played in the theatres ahead of the new X-men series Logan. The long teaser, titled No Good Deed, takes immense inspiration from other notable superhero franchise along with a Stan Lee peek-in.
Ryan Reynolds can be seen as a foul-mouthed superhero Deadpool, in a tongue-in-cheek sequel to the self aware comic book. Deadpool, released in 2016, had profanity, sex and dark humour packed in it and judging by the trailer or the sequel, this one is likely to do the same.
The trailer kicks off with Reynolds as Deadpool witnessing a crime and promising to stop it, superhero style. He charges towards a phone booth situated at the middle of the road and he changes into his spandex on the tune of John Williams’ Superman films. Reynolds act is so perfect that we get to see his bare body behind the glass door of the booth, not to mention the visual treat he provides to his fans by literally pressing his bare-butt cheeks on the door for a few seconds.
But, here’s the ironic part. It takes much longer than necessary to change only to discover that he’s a bit too late to save the day. Well, what’s done is done, and now Deadpool just eats the dead man’s ice cream, of course.
There are plenty of visual gags in the background, a Stan Lee cameo, and the bit ends with Reynolds casually asking the dead body, “How do other guys do it so quickly”? He then makes a reference to Logan by saying that Logan could’ve surely saved the man because he doesn’t have to change into an elaborate costume like him.
The teaser promises that we can expect the same cheeky humor in the sequel film, which is expected to release in 2018.
