Just ahead of the Computex tech conference event 2017 in Taipei, Taiwanese computer hardware manufacturer Acer has announced four exciting new devices. These include a Nitro 5 budget gaming laptop, a Spin 1 convertible notebook and two new Android 7.0 Nougat powered Iconia tablets. The Nitro 5 especially designed for casual gamers, Spin 1 offers a lightweight and fashionable convertible for busy workers and the Acer Iconia tablets are primarily designed for premium multimedia experiences.
Nitro 5 gaming laptop specifications and features:
Starting with the Nitro 5 specifications, the Acer Nitro 5 comes with a 15.6-inch full-HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The Acer Nitro 5 gaming notebook will be available in Intel and AMD configurations in specific models. You can choose from configurations with 7th generation Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processor coupled with NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1050Ti graphics card. On the other hand, you can choose AMD configuration with A-series FX, A12 and A10 APUs paired with Radeon RX 550 GPU. In terms of memory, the Nitro 5 comes with 32GB of DDR4 2400 MHz RAM. For some models, depending on region, users can get the option of up to 512GB of PCIe SSD storage combined with an additional HDD storage of up to 2TB.
Ports on the device include one USB 3.1 Type-C port, one USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports, one HDMI 2.0 port, one Audio Jack port, one Microphone Jack port, and one Ethernet port. The connectivity options offered by the laptop include Wi-Fi (802.11 AC) and Bluetooth. Talking about its software fronts, Acer Nitro 5 runs on Windows 10 64-bit version. In addition, the Nitro 5 houses dual fans with Acer Coolboost technology for the gaming device’s thermal solution. The company says that the technology will be able to deliver heightened fan speeds and cooling ability, and will also allow the users to control the cooling process manually when necessary. The Acer Nitro 5 will be made available for purchase in the U.S in July with a starting price of $799 (approximately Rs. 51,500).
Acer Spin 1 convertible specifications and features:
Coming to the Acer Spin 1 convertible notebook, it comes with a sleeker 14mm metal chassis and runs on the 7th generation Celeron and Pentium processors from Intel. The Acer Spin 1 convertible laptop sports an 11.6-inch Full HD touchscreen (Acer Active Stylus support) display with a screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. In terms of memory, the Acer Spin 1 comes with 2GB/ 4GB of DDR3 RAM and 32GB/ 64GB/ 128GB of eMMC storage. The key highlight of the Acer Spin 1 is its 360-degree hinge, that allows to use your notebook in a variety of different positions, it can be used as a tablet, a traditional laptop. There are two speakers with True-Harmony technology and Precision touchpad too on this notebook.
Ports on the device include one USB 3.1 Type-A port, one USB 2.0 Type-A port, one HDMI port, and microSD card slot for memory expansion. The connectivity options offered by the laptop include Bluetooth 4.1. Talking about its software fronts, Acer Spin 1 runs on Windows 10 64-bit version. The device measures just 0.55 inches in thickness and weighs around 1.25kgs. The Acer Spin 1 convertible notebook is rated to deliver up to 8 hours of battery life. The Acer Spin 1 will also be made available for purchase in the U.S in July with a starting price of $329 (approximately Rs. 21,200).
Acer Iconia 10 tablets specifications and features:
Acer Iconia 10 comes in two variants- the Acer Iconia Tab 10 (A3-A50) and the Acer Iconia One 10 (B3-A40FHD). Both the tablets run on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system and powered by a MediaTek quad-core processor. The Acer Iconia Tab 10 sports a 10-inch IPS display with Quantum Dot technology which provides a higher brightness levels, better color accuracy, wider color range, and deeper saturation.
Other features on the Iconia Tab 10 include Acer MediaMaster, which allows users to set preferences for different types of movies or music. On the other hand, the One 10 comes with 10-inch IPS display, two Micro-USB ports for easy connectivity with On-The-Go (OTG) support. Both the tablets support five magnet speakers (four integrated speakers and a subwoofer) with DTS-HD Premium Sound, and Wireless AC connectivity. The company did not reveal pricing, availability and other specification details of these Android tablets.
