Mouni Roy who became a household name in TV with Ekta Kapoor’s supernatural series “ Naagin” playing the role of Shivvanaya, will be making her debut in a Bollywood film with Akshay Kumar. Producer Ritesh Sidhwani confirmed on Twitter that the actress is a part of his upcoming film, Gold. He said,” Team #Gold on the field tomorrow all the best!” Even Farhan Akhtar has tweeted; “All the Best Team GOLD # First Day Shoot”
It may be noted that Ritesh Sidhwani who has produced films like ‘Raees’, ‘Don-2’, ‘Rock On 2’ is making ‘Gold’ with Akshay Kumar and Mouni Roy. The movie is produced by Excel Entertainment and will be directed by Reema Kagti. The movie will be a sports drama and focus on the Gold medal won in Olympics in 1948. Akshay is likely to narrate the role of legendary athlete Balbir Singh, who won first Gold Medal at Olympics. The film is being planned to hit the screens on 15th August 2018. Being a sports movie, it could be that Mouni’s role will not be a lengthy one. But it will be in right proportion to the script of the movie.
Known for her natural beauty, the actress Mouni is reported to bag even a film opposite Salman Khan soon. It is said actor Salman Khan had recommended her name for Akshay Kumar’s Gold which is set to go on floors tomorrow. She was on holiday abroad recently.
