After launching the Nokia 6, Nokia 5, Nokia 3 Android-powered smartphones, now it seems like the HMD Global is all set to launch its next Android-powered flagship smartphone, which is rumoured to be called the “Nokia 8” in the European tech market on July 31 (Monday), 2017. If you are not aware, HMD Global is a Finnish start-up company, which has the official permit to manufacture, distribute and sell Nokia-branded smartphones worldwide. However, the latest news comes into the light from a German-based technology website, WinFuture.de. According to the latest reports, HMD Global will soon launch a Nokia-branded flagship smartphone carrying a model number of TA-1004. It also reveals the expected price of the Nokia Android-powered smartphone. The alleged model number, TA-1004 was also spotted earlier on the benchmark websites like Antutu and GeekBench. As for pricing, Nokia 8 is expected to be priced at €589 (approximately Rs. 43,450). This pricing details in reportedly for the European market only, and the premium device is expected to come with a lower price tag in other countries.
However, there are many leaks and rumours about the Nokia 8 from the last couple of months. Nokia 8 has been subjected to multiple leaks ahead of its official debut which does reveal a gist of all the specifications and features about the upcoming Nokia flagship device. Some people say the new device could be the Nokia 8, other people claim that it might be the Nokia 9, as the multiple rumours have also been leaked about the Nokia 9. Right now we are not sure about Nokia 9, but the new report indicates at the upcoming Nokia 8. However, If the rumours and leaked information are to be believed, the Nokia 8 would see a significant overhaul in terms of hardware and software specifications.
According to the WinFuture.de reports, the Nokia 8 will have a 5.7-inch Quad HD display with a screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 display. The device is expected to be powered by a 2.45GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. On the software front, the Nokia 8 will run on Google’s Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box. The alleged Nokia flagship device will most probably be offered in four body colour options including Blue, Steel, Gold with Blue and Gold with Copper.
In terms of photography, the Nokia 8 is expected to feature a dual rear camera setup combined with two 13-megapixel sensors with autofocus, dual LED flash light and other useful features. There is also a possibility that the device may sport ZEISS lens-backed high-quality camera setup, as HMD Global has recently announced a partnership with German optics company with ZEISS lens. WinFuture.de also suggests that the smartphone may be launched in two variants — one with Single-Sim slot and the other with Dual-Sim card slot. However, the new report doesn’t provide any further details about the Nokia 8 specifications and features, but it hints that the Nokia phone maker will launch its next premium flagship smartphone on July 31.
