After launching the Tango-enabled ZenFone AR in the Indian market, now it seems like the Taiwanese PC and Tablet manufacturer Asus is all set to introduce its next smartphone series, called the “ZenFone 4 series” in Taiwan pretty soon. This emerging report is first reported by the Android Pure, where it claims that Asus will be launching its ZenFone 4-badged five smartphones– the ZenFone 4 (ZE554KL), ZenFone 4 Pro (Z01GD), ZenFone 4 Selfie (Z01M), ZenFone 4 Max (ZC554KL) and the ZenFone 4V (520KL/A006) – in the company’s homeland in Taiwan on August 17. Out of these five models, the ZenFone 4 Max (ZC554KL) has already made its debut on the Russian tech market a couple of days ago and the phone is now retailing in Russia with a price tag of RUB 13,900 (approx. Rs. 15,150). As of now, the company has made no official announcements about the launch event of its Zenfone 4 series but the previous rumour indicates that the next-generation Zenfone 4 series is expected to be unveiled in Europe sometime in September this year.
Out of these five ZenFone 4 series models, only ZenFone 4 Selfie (Z01M) was spotted on the GFXBench database last month. As per the GFXBench listing, the ZenFone 4 Selfie sports a 5.5-inch full-HD display with a screen resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor along with Adreno 506 GPU. The ZenFone 4 Selfie is backed up by a 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It has a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera sensor and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera sensor. The smartphone runs ZenUI custom skin, based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system. However, these are all leaks and rumours, we will request our readers to wait till the official disclosure from the company for any confirmation.
Moving on the recently launched ZenFone 4 Max (ZC554KL), the device comes equipped with a full-HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels and a 2.5D curved glass coating on top of the display. Under the hood, the smartphone comes in two variants based on their processing unit—one variant is powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor, while the other variant is powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor. In terms of memory, the device is backed up by a 2GB/3GB/4GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB/64GB of internal storage (expandable up to 256GB). The Asus Zenfone 4 Max runs company’s proprietary ZenUI 3.0 custom UI skin, based on Google’s latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
For photography, the Asus Zenfone 4 Max sports a dual rear camera setup that comes combined with two 13-megapixel sensors. Among these two camera sensors, the main camera sports a 13-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, 80-degree wide-angle lens, while the secondary camera comes with a 13-megapixel sensor with 120-degree wide-angle lens and EIS. On the front, the device features an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter with an f/2.2 aperture, 85-degree wide-angle lens, and a soft LED flash. Connectivity options on the device include dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/A-GPS, FM Radio, 5-magnet speakers with NXP Smart Amp Amplifier, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB port. On the battery front, the Asus Zenfone 4 Max packs a mammoth 5,000mAh battery with 10W rapid charging support.
