Home-bred handset manufacturer Celkon on Monday updated its budget smartphone catalogue with the launch of a new camera-centric smartphone, christened as the “Celkon CliQ” in the Indian mobile market. Priced at Rs. 8,399, the new Celkon Cliq is now already made available for purchase in India via all leading mortar and brick stores across the country. The major highlights of the smartphone are its 16MP primary camera and BOOM-powered surround sound system technology.
Design wise, the Celkon CliQ sports a sleek metal unibody design with metal frame all around giving it an overall premium look. The Celkon CliQ is seen sporting capacitive navigation touch buttons, just below the display panel, while the top display panel houses a selfie camera, an earpiece and sensors. There are two chrome antenna lines running parallel to each other at the top and bottom of the smartphone. The volume up-down keys and the power/lock button are all placed on the right-hand edge of the device, while a microUSB 2.0 charging port is situated at the very bottom edge of the smartphone.
Technically speaking, the Celkon CliQ comes equipped with a 5-inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels and a scratch resistance 2.5D curved glass coating on top of the display. The smartphone is powered by a 64-Bit 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex A53 processor coupled with 2GB DDR3 RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. Talking about its software front, the smartphone runs on Google’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system out-of-the-box.
For photography, the Celkon CliQ houses a 16-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture, autofocus, and LED flash. On the front, it features an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter with an f/2.0 aperture for capturing selfies and making video calls. The rear camera is capable of recording full-HD (1080p) videos at 30fps. The camera features on the device include Panorama, Bokeh mode, Face Detection, Auto Scene Detection, Beautification, Smile Shot, and much more. Talking about its multimedia department, the Celkon CliQ comes with BOOM-tuned surround sound technology that provides premium sound to a user while listening to music, watching videos and playing games on the device.
On the connectivity front, the dual-SIM Celkon CliQ smartphone offers various connectivity options including 4G VoLTE, 3G/EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. On the battery front, the new Celkon CliQ packs a 2,500mAh battery. Sensors on the smartphone include a Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient Light sensor, Gravity sensor and Gyroscope sensor. Apart from these specifications, the Celkon CliQ comes preloaded with SwiftKey keyboard by Microsoft that enables communication in 21 regional languages in India.
