After launching the K9 Kavach 4G smartphone in India last month, Home-grown handset manufacturer Karbonn Mobiles on Thursday refreshed its Aura series smartphone portfolio with the launch of an another entry-level smartphone, called the “Karbonn Aura Note Play” in the Indian tech market. Priced at Rs. 7,590, the new Karbonn Aura Note Play is now already made available for purchase in India via all leading offline retail stores across the country in Black and Champagne Gold colour options.
The Karbonn Aura Note Play is a new member of company’s popular Aura series that we have seen the recently launched Aura Note 2 with 4G VoLTE support and now the Aura Note Play can be considered as an upgraded version of the Karbonn Aura Note 2. The major highlights of the smartphone are its gigantic HD display, 8MP main camera, Android 7.0 Nougat OS and artificial intelligence (AI) based applications. Like the Aura Note 2, the Aura Note Play also comes integrated with a Fashion app, Vistoso, which allows users to search for a dress or accessory by simply clicking its picture, with the AI engine of the app automatically recognising the print, pattern and colour of the outfit to give relevant results.

Technically speaking, the Karbonn Aura Note Play flaunts a gigantic 6-inch HD IPS full lamination display with a screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. On the software (OS) front, the Karbonn Aura Note Play runs on Google’s latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box.
For photography, the Karbonn Aura Note Play houses an 8-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash module. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel fixed-focus front-facing shooter for capturing selfies and making video calls. The rear-facing camera supports features like Touch focus, Autofocus, HDR, Self-timer, Panorama shot, Continuous shot, Smile shot and Face detection. The Karbonn Aura Note Play also features a rear-mounted fingerprint recognition button for biometric security.
On the connectivity front, the dual-SIM Karbonn Aura Note Play offers various connectivity options including 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, USB OTG support, FM Radio, IR remote (Infrared), a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the smartphone include Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, G-Sensor, Proximity sensor and a Fingerprint sensor (rear-mounted). On the battery front, the Aura Note Play comes packed with a high-density 3,300mAh battery which claims to deliver up to 10 hours of talk time on the 2G network and up to 180 hours of standby time.
