“Rome wasn’t built in a day.”
It’s not easy to build something huge, iconic and everlasting. We have so many outstandingly beautiful structures all around the world which have been standing tall and proud ever since we can remember. But have you ever imagined that how much it must have taken to build such magnificent structures?
The list of iconic structures goes on but there were a few of them which were photographed when they were under construction. But some of them were built at the time when there was no camera. So they were simply pictured.

1. The World Trade Center, the USA
The World Trade Center is a large complex of seven huge buildings. It was attacked by the terrorists of Al-Qaeda on 9th September 2001.
The terrorists of Al-Qaeda hijacked a plane and crashed it into the building. This day is considered as the most unfortunate day in the history of America.
2. Mount Rushmore, the USA
Mount Rushmore is a national memorial.
It is a sculpture carved in granite. Every year Mount Rushmore has more than 3 million visitors.
3. The Manhattan Bridge, the USA
The Manhattan Bridge is a suspension bridge which is made over East River in New York.
It took 12 years to build this bridge. It was started in the year 1901 and was completed in the year 1912.
4. Burj Khalifa, Dubai
Burj Khalifa is situated in Dubai, UAE. It is one of the tallest skyscrapers in the world.
It is one of the biggest milestones of 21st Century.
5. Space Needle, Seattle
Space Needle is situated in Seattle. The building has served as an observation tower.
In 1962’s world fair it attracted more than 2.3 million visitors and 20,000 people rode the accelerator that day.
6. The Gateway Arch, the USA
It is a landmark for St. Louis city in the USA.
It took almost 54 years to build this structure.
7. The Tower Bridge, London
This beautiful structure is made on River Thames in London.
It is more than 120 years old.
8. The Golden Gate Bridge, the USA
The construction of this bridge started in the year 1933 on 5th January.
It took almost 5 years to complete this bridge and it’s almost 84 years ever since the bridge was opened for common public.
9. Christ the Redeemer, Brazil
This huge statue of Jesus Christ is situated on Mount Corcovado, Brazil.
It stands in the second position in the list of new wonders of the world.
10. Disney’s Epcot Center, Orlando
Disney’s Epcot center is theme park situated in Walt Disney World Resort, Florida, Orlando.
It was opened for general public almost 34 years ago.
11. The CN Tower, Toronto
The CN tower is communication and observation tower situated in Toronto, Canada.
It took almost 3 years to build this and was presented in the year 1976 to the common public.
12. The Brooklyn Bridge, the USA
Brooklyn Bridge is America’s one of the oldest bridges.
It is now almost 147 years old.
13. The Eiffel Tower, Paris
The most romantic structure in this whole world is the very beautiful Eiffel Tower.
It is also the place where almost every couple wants to share a kiss with their beloved.
14. The Empire State building, the USA
This huge office building is America’s one of the most popular buildings.
The construction of this building started on 17th March 1930.
15. Opera House, Australia
Opera House is a multi-venue performing arts center.
It is one of the most famous and distinctive structures of the 20th century.
16. Taj Mahal, India
Taj Mahal is the epitome of beauty and love. It was built by Shah Jahan in the memory of his beautiful wife Mumtaz.
It is said that it took 22 years and almost 20,000 artisans to build this beautiful structure. Shah Jahan even ordered to cut the hands of all the artisans so that no one can build another Taj Mahal.
17. The Statue of Liberty, USA
Statue of Liberty was a gift from the people of Paris to the USA.
It still stands tall and proud on NY harbor on the Liberty Island.
