Taiwanese PC and tablet manufacturer Asus has finally joined to the bezel-less display smartphone segment with the launch of its latest full-screen display smartphone, called the “Asus Pegasus 4S” in the Chinese market. The Asus Pegasus 4S is the company’s first offering to come with a dual curved bezel-less display, as we have seen on the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ flagship smartphones. Unfortunately, the pricing details and the availability of the new Asus Pegasus 4S have not been revealed by the company yet, but we can expect the smartphone will be available in China pretty soon in Star Black and Gold colour options. The main highlights of the smartphone are off course its dual curved bezel-less display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, dual rear-facing camera setup and a massive 4,030mAh battery. Apart from its full-screen display, the Asus Pegasus 4S sports an all-metal body structure and dual curved bezel-less display on the front, giving the device a premium outlook. The Asus Pegasus 4S comes in two variants based on its RAM and inbuilt storage configuration: Asus Pegasus 4S with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage and Asus Pegasus 4S with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.
Talking about its specifications, the Asus Pegasus 4S features a 5.7-inch HD+ IPS display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and a scratch resistance 2.5D curved glass coating on top of the display. The display has dual edge curved design and offers an aspect ratio of 18:9. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor, which comes paired with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage. The internal storage on the handset can be further expanded by inserting a microSD card. Talking about its software fronts, the device runs company’s proprietary custom UI skin, based on Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. The smartphone also features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication process.
For photography, the Asus Pegasus 4S sports a dual rear camera setup that comes combined with one 16-megapixel primary sensor and one 8-megapixel secondary sensor. The rear camera also features autofocus, LED flash and full-HD video recording support. On the front, the smartphone features an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter for capturing selfies and making video calls.
On the connectivity front, the dual-SIM Asus Pegasus 4S works on FDD-LTE / TD-LTE / WCDMA / TD-SCDMA / CDMA2000 / GSM networks. Apart from this, the smartphone also supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS, a 3.5mm audio port and a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the smartphone include an Accelerator, Gyroscope, Proximity sensor, Ambient Light sensor and a Fingerprint sensor (rear-mounted). On the battery front, the Asus Pegasus 4S comes loaded with a massive 4,030mAh battery. Dimension wise, the handset measures 152.6 x 72.7 x 8.8 mm and weighs 160 grams.
