Actress Karen Gillan, who is better known for portraying Nebula in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy series, is currently in news for her new film, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, which has got positive response not only from fans but also the critics.
And recently, speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Karen Gillan aka Ruby Roundhouse of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, revealed that she had to work hard and train herself more than any of her past film-even more than her Marvel movies!
“I’ve never done more for any movie,” Gillan said. “Any Marvel movie, anything. For this I had to get through that whole (dance-fight) thing in one take. It required so much rehearsal and I had a lot of help from my stunt double too.”
She also shared her experience of working with Dwayne Johnson in this movie, and how he inspired her to work more harder for her role.
“He’s so inspiring. I’ve never met anyone that works harder than him.”
Talking about her character in the film, Karen Gillan said, “What I loved about this character so much was when you look at her you’d think that she was a very self-confident, badass girl,” she elaborated, “but to then inhabit her with the opposite of that.”
“I mean for me just as an actor, I thought ‘This is an interesting take on the obligatory female role in movies.’
“And so I was like, ‘This is making me happy because I feel like it’s a twist on something that we’re very familiar with.'”
