2017 is a going to be a good year for film buffs. Arguably, superstar Rajinikanth‘s 2.0 is the most anticipated Tamil film of the year.
While the team is rigorously wrapping up the remaining portions for the film, an interesting news has cropped up.
According to reports, the makers are planning to unveil the teaser of 2.0 on April 14, which also marks the auspicious occasion of Tamil New Year’s Day. Interestingly, SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 will also release in the same month.
Reports also suggest that the team has erected a massive set at Mahabalipuram, where the shooting is currently taking place.
Basking in the success of Kabali, Rajinikanth has already began dubbing works for the film. It must be noted that the teaser of Kabali received tremendous response from audience and clocked more than 33 million views on YouTube. Can Rajinikanth beat his own record? We have to wait and see.
Tipped to be a sci-fi thriller, 2.0 will see Akshay Kumar playing an ornithologist Dr.Richard in the film. Also starring Amy Jackson, Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil Hussain in pivotal roles, 2.0 has music by Academy Award winner AR Rahman.
The film is being made at a whopping budget of more than Rs 350 crore and is simultaneously produced in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The film is a sequel to the 2010 blockbuster Enthiran, which is said to be Shankar’s most ambitious project so far.
The film has been making waves ever since it was announced. Enthiran 2.0 also marks the acting debut of Akshay in the south. He is playing an evil and an eccentric scientist in the film. It also stars Amy Jackson, Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil Hussain in important roles. The film, which is bankrolled by Lyca Productions, is slated for a Diwali release this year.
