Ahead of the second edition of Amazon Great India Sale 2017, Chinese smartphone maker Coolpad has announced that the company will be offering a discount on their two most popular smartphones –Note 5 and Note 5 Lite. Coolpad Note 5 and Note 5 Lite will be available for Rs. 9,999 and Rs. 6,999, respectively at the Amazon Great Indian Sale 2017. To recall, Coolpad Note 5 was launched at a price of Rs. 10,999 in India last year in September while the Coolpad Note 5 Lite was launched recently in March in this year with a price tag of Rs. 8,199. However, the Amazon Great Indian Sale 2017 will be live from 11th May–14th May 2017 on Amazon.in.
“India is among the top performing markets for Coolpad where we have received a tremendous response for Note series. Both Note 5 and Note 5 Lite were among the most popular choice for smartphone buyers on the Amazon platform.” Syed Tajuddin, CEO at Coolpad India, was quoted as saying in the company’s release.
“The response we have got from our consumer over the years with every launch has been overwhelming and we are positive to get a similar response during the The Amazon Great India Sale which is scheduled for 11th – 14th May 2017,” he added.
Coolpad Note 5 specifications & features: –
In terms of specifications, the Coolpad Note 5 smartphone sports a 5.5-inch full-HD (1920 x 1080) display with 2.5D Curved Glass and a pixel density of 401ppi. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor which is coupled with the Adreno 405 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The Coolpad Note 5 comes with 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via a microSD card. On the software front, the device runs company’s own Cool UI 8.0, based on Google’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

In terms of photography, Coolpad Note 5 features a 13-megapixel auto-focus camera with a CMOS Sensor and f2/2 aperture accompanied by dual-toned LED flash. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with f2/2 aperture and a ‘smart beautification feature’. Coolpad Note 5 also comes with a front LED flash to allow users take selfies in low light conditions.
In terms of connectivity options, the dual SIM (GSM + GSM) Coolpad Note 5 smartphone offers a hybrid dual-SIM configuration, which means users can either use a second SIM card or a microSD card. Connectivity options on the device also include 4G voLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, USB OTG, FM radio, 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the phone include Proximity sensor, Acceleration sensor, Ambient light sensor, Compass Magnetometer, Light Sensor and Fingerprint Sensor (back panel). Coolpad Note 5 is fuelled by a 4010mAh non removable battery with a stand by time upto 350Hrs. The handset measures 152 x 75.7 x 8.9 mm and weighs 173.4 grams.

On the other hand, Coolpad Note 5 Lite runs company’s own Cool UI 8.0, based on Google’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The smartphone sports a 5-inch semi-HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS display with a pixel density of 294ppi and a 70.6 percent screen-to-body ratio. It comes with scratch resistant, 2.5D curved glass on top of its display. The device is powered by a 64 bit 1.0 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735CP processor, coupled with Mali 720 GPU. Coolpad Note 5 Lite is backed by a 3GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage which can be further expanded up to 64GB using a microSD card.
In terms of photography, Coolpad Note 5 Lite sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, and an 8-megapixel front camera with LED flash.
Connectivity options include dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 3G/HSPA+, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, 3.5mm audio jack, USB OTG support and a microUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. The Coolpad Note 5 Lite is fuelled by a 2500mAh non-removable battery which the company claims deliver a standby time of 200 hours. The smartphone measures 145.3 x 72.3 x 8.7 mm and weighs 148 grams. However, the Coolpad Note 5 Lite smartphone is basically a toned down version of the Coolpad Note 5.
