A film that generated instant buzz, Saamy 2 later rechristened as Saamy Square has been one of the most exciting film announcements that came out this year.
Saamy Square aka. Saamy 2 would see the return of ‘Chiyaan’ Vikram and director Hari joining hands after a gap of 14 years since their Saamy went on to become a blockbuster in 2003.
Soon after, it was expected that actress Trisha would reprise her role for the sequel which is in production right now. Along with her joining the team, current heartthrob Keerthy Suresh too was announced as another female lead followed by Bobby Simha as the antagonist.
In the midst of this, actress Trisha has now backed out of Saamy 2 stating “creative differences” as the reason. She took to her Twitter space a short while back saying, “Due to creative differences,i have chosen to opt out of Saamy 2 . Wishing the team goodluck.”
Trisha revealing the reason in such an open manner indeed suggests things did not turn out quite as well as the popular actress might have expected. This now leaves the Saamy Square team in a spot of bother as they will have to find an apt replacement soon considering production has been progressing at rapid pace.
Saamy 2 is being bankrolled under Shibu Thameen’s Thameens Films banner with a musical score by Devi Sri Prasad.
