Taiwanese computer hardware manufacturer Acer on Wednesday expanded its popular Aspire desktop line-up with the launch of a new ultra-thin All-in-One gaming PC, dubbed as the “Acer Aspire S24” at the IFA event in Berlin. The company claims that Acer Aspire S24 is the company’s first slimmest all-in-one desktop PC it has ever built. The all-new Aspire S24 comes equipped with a large 23.8-inch full-HD IPS display, 8th Generation Intel Core processors, sleek design with Champagne gold accent, and 2.1 channel subwoofer with Dolby Audio Premium and company’s TrueHarmony technology. As for pricing and availability, the new Acer Aspire S24 will be available in Europe from November 2017 and in North America from January 2018 with a starting price of €999 and US$999 (approx. Rs. 63,900) respectively.
In terms of specifications, the new Acer Aspire S24 comes equipped with a gorgeous 23.8-inch full-HD IPS display with 178-degree view angle and a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The display has only 2.7mm ultra-narrow bezel with a screen-to-body ratio of 90 percent. The newest offering from Acer also features a -5 to 30-degree tilt adjustable display, which comes combined with Acer’s ExaColor technology for colour accuracy. To prevent eye fatigue, the display also features company’s proprietary BluelightShield and Flickerless technologies that effectively reduces the amount of harmful light emitted from the LED display panels to make reading comfortable.
Under the hood, the machine is powered by the 8th generation Intel Core U-series processors (Intel Core i7 8550U or Intel Core i5 8250U) coupled with up to 32GB DDR4 (2133MHz) RAM and optional Intel Optane memory that enables users to experience immersive entertainment. In terms of storage, the Acer Aspire S24 supports up to 2TB of HDD storage and up to 256 GB of SSD storage for faster data access speeds and boot-up times.
Connectivity options offered by the desktop include Intel Wireless (802.11ac) with 2×2 MIMO technology and Bluetooth 4.2. Talking about its software fronts, the new Acer Aspire S24 runs on pre-installed Windows 10, which includes Microsoft Edge and Cortana with far-field speech recognition. The Aspire S24 has a wireless charging base that allows users to charge their Qi-enabled devices without having to connect cables. The Acer Aspire S24 also features 2.1 channel subwoofer that comes coupled with Dolby Audio Premium and company’s TrueHarmony technology, which provides smooth, rich, and crystal-clear sound experience to users in music, movies, and even gaming.
