Leicester City beat Liverpool 3-1, days after the top bosses sacked Claudio Ranieri after dismal defence of their Premier League title. Leicester City were on the verge of being relegated after beating 5000-1 odds last season and winning the title. Jamie Vardy and Danny Drinkwater scored for Leicester while Liverpool’s Countinho scored a consolation goal for Liverpool.
With a win over Liverpool, Leicester City moved in to the 15th spot in the Premier League table. While Liverpool have won just once in their last 4 premier league games putting them 14 points behind the table toppers Chelsea.

Jamie Vardy made a mark on the score board at the 28th minute. Vardy picked up a good, accurate pass from Marcus Albrighton and tapped it into the net for Leicester. The Foxes ended the half up two goals after a brilliant strike from Danny Drinkwater.
Leicester City went right back to basics against Liverpool. They played in a 4-4-2 style just like last season. Furthermore, Leicester troubled Liverpool defense with accurate deep passes with Vardy at striker.
Liverpool played after a 16 day break. The team looked rusty with only Countinho providing any sort of attack for the Reds. Countinho finally beat a resilient Schmeichel in the 68th minute for a consolation goal for Liverpool.

Although the Leicester City players failed to condemn the firing of their manager, the fans did not disappoint. Leicester City fans came out n support of the fired manager with banners and face mask of Claudio Ranieri.
Leicester next face Hull city in the Premier League. Hull City are battling to survive while Leicester City look to have regained their last year form.
