Lenovo-owned Motorola on Saturday officially launched a new Midnight Blue colour variant of the Moto G5S smartphone in the Indian smartphone market. Carried a special Diwali price tag of Rs. 12,999, the new Moto G5S Midnight Blue colour variant will be made available for purchase starting from today via Moto Hubs as well as all leading offline retail stores across the country. And after the Diwali sale, the same smartphone will be retailing with a price tag of Rs. 14,999. If you don’t remember, the Moto G5S was first launched in India in the month of August in Lunar Gray and Fine Gold colour options. With the new Midnight Blue shade, the new Moto G5S will now be available in three body colour options including Midnight Blue, Fine Gold and Iron Gray. Apart from its paint job, the rest specifications and features are same to same as we have seen in the other existing Moto G5S models or variants.

Moto G5S Specifications and Features:

Recollecting some key specifications of the smartphone, the Moto G5S comes equipped with a 5.2-inch full-HD display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a scratch resistance Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating on top of the display. Under the hood, the Moto G5S is powered by a 1.4 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 (MSM8937) octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 505 GPU to handle the graphics. In terms of memory, the device is backed up by a 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. Talking about its software front, the Moto G5S runs on Google’s Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box.

In terms of optics, the Moto G5S features a 16-megapixel rear sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, Phase Detection AutoFocus (PDAF), an LED flash module and full-HD (1080p) video recording support. On the front, the smartphone sports a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter with f/2.0 aperture, fixed focus and an LED flash for capturing bright selfies and video calling even in low light conditions.

On the connectivity front, the Moto G5S offers various connectivity options including Dual-SIM configuration, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/A-GPS, NFC, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB 2.0 port for charging and other connectivity. On the battery front, the device is fuelled by a decent 3,000mAh battery with Turbo Charging support. The company claims that the TurboPower feature on the Moto G5S provides up to 5 hours of battery life on 15 minutes of charging. Sensors on the smartphone include a Fingerprint (front-mounted) sensor, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Ambient Light Sensor, and Proximity sensor. Dimensionally, the Moto G5S measures 150 x 73.5 x 8.2mm and weighs 157 grams.
