Soon after launching the N2 smartphone in India, ZTE sub-brand Nubia on Friday launched an another camera-centric smartphone, called the “Nubia M2” in the Indian tech market. Priced at Rs. Rs. 22,999, the new Nubia M2 will be made available for purchase starting July 10, 2017, exclusively via e-commerce website Amazon India in Champagne Gold and Black Gold colour options. Note that, the new Nubia M2 will be sold exclusively for Amazon Prime users on Amazon Prime Day sale, which will take place starting 6 PM on July 10 till midnight of July 11. To recall, Nubia M2 was first launched in China in March along with company’s other two camera-centric smartphones — Nubia M2 Lite and Nubia N2. The main USPs (unique selling point) of the Nubia M2 are its dual (13MP+13MP) camera setup, improved fingerprint scanner, On-cell AMOLED display, Dolby Sound 7.1 and Hi-Fi audio support and a 3,630mAh battery with company’s NeoPower 2.5 fast charging tech.

In terms of specifications, the Nubia M2 comes equipped with a 5.5-inch full-HD On-cell AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a scratch resistance 2.5D curved glass coating on top of the display. The device is powered by a 64-bit 2.0GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor coupled with Adreno 506 graphics processing unit. In terms of memory, the Nubia M2 is backed up by a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 200GB using a microSD card. The Nubia M2 also features a front-mounted fingerprint sensor that is housed underneath a capsule-sized physical Home Button of the device. On the software front, the Nubia M2 runs company’s proprietary Nubia UI 4.0 custom UI skin, based on Google’s Android v6.0 Marshmallow operating system.
In terms of optics, the Nubia M2 sports a dual primary camera setup on the rear. One camera sports a 13-megapixel Sony full-light Monochrome sensor, while another camera comes with a 13-megapixel RGB sensor. The rear camera features include f/2.2 aperture, Sony CMOS sensors, 0.1S Hybrid Focus PDAF and Contrast, and a dual-tone LED flash. The camera app comes loaded with company’s “NeoVision 6.5″ technology that enables a “strong multi-functional camera” like any DSLR. NeoVision 6.5 technology offers different modes including Multi Exposure, Electronic Aperture, Light Painting, Star Trail, Slow Shutter, SLO-MO, Video Maker, Time-Lapse, DNG, Clone, Trajectory, Marco Camera and Panorama. Talking about its front-facing camera, the Nubia M2 houses a 16-megapixel ISOCELL CMOS camera with a f/2.0 aperture, 2μm virtual pixel size (pixel-binning technology), and an 80-degree wide-angle lens for capturing selfies.
Connectivity options on the Nubia M2 include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac (2.4/5.0GHz), GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS, OTG, a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-C port for superfast charging and data transfer. On the battery front, the smartphone comes packed with a 3,630mAh non-removable battery with NeoPower 2.5 fast charging support. Sensors on the smartphone include an Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, E-Compass, Proximity sensor, Fingerprint (front-mounted) and a Gyroscope sensor. Dimensionally, the Nubia M2 measures 154.5 x 75.9 x 7.0 mm and weighs 168 grams.
