Chinese-based handset manufacturer Oukitel is planning to release an another 10000mAh smartphone “K10000 Pro” to the market and it will arrive in markets as soon as early June, according to The Verge. Back in December 2015, Oukitel launched its K10000 smartphone with a massive 10,000mAh battery that the company claimed it would last up to 15 days on a single charge.
In some exhibitions for the mobile industry this year including MWC (Mobile World Congress), Oukitel already leaked that their next “king” will be the “K10000 Pro.” K10000 Pro smartphone apparently comes with a tagline- “To be the king”, which indicates the status of this device both in long standing battery life and performance experience. The Oukitel K10000 Pro is also supposed to weigh 292.5 grams, or about 27.5 grams lighter than its predecessor, the K10000.
The K10000 Pro is the successor to the K10000, which was released in 2015 and featured the same massive powerbank-like 10,000mAh battery. Oukitel says the huge battery takes about three and a half hours to fully charge thanks to flash charge technology that’s kept in its 12V/2A charger. K10000 Pro will upgrade a lot from the previous K10000 in many aspects. According to The Verge, the K10000 Pro will sport a 5.5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass Protection, while the previous Oukitel K10000 came loaded with a 5.5-inch display with a 1280 x 720 resolution. Under the hood, the K10000 Pro will also have an octa-core MediaTek MT6750T processor running at 1.5 GHz, compared to the original K10000, which carried a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor. In terms of memory, the K10000 Pro version will also have 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, compared to 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage on the original K10000.
In terms of design, as per the teaser image, the device shows a fingerprint scanner at the back, something that was not present in the previous variant and a leather-effect rear panel. There is also glimpse of what looks like a pen in the teaser image, which could be a stylus. For now, we don’t have any information about which version of Android the phone will run, how much the phone will cost, or if the Pro version will keep the same cameras (the previous version had an 8MP rear camera and a 3MP front-facing camera) and gesture controls as the original.
