South Korean tech giant Samsung had launched its premium Samsung Galaxy S8+ smartphone in the Indian tech market earlier this month with an upgraded 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage variant. Now, almost one week later, the company Samsung has started shipping units of its Samsung Galaxy S8+ 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant across the country from today. Priced at Rs. 74, 900, the Galaxy S8+ smartphone is now available for purchase through company’s official retail store, Samsung Shop and e-commerce website Flipkart.com in Midnight Black colour option. To recall, Galaxy S8+ with 6GB RAM and 128GB built-in storage variant was launched exclusively in company’s homeland, South Korea back in April 2017.
The company has also announced a best buying offer for the new Galaxy S8+ with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. As an incentive, those customers, who purchase a Galaxy S8+ high-end variant, they will get a wireless charger for free worth Rs. 4,499. In addition, Samsung Shop is offering a Rs. 2,500 cash back to ICICI Bank credit card holders. Interested customers can also avail an additional benefit of Rs 15,000 on exchanging their old smartphones with the new Galaxy S8+ with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant smartphone. On the Flipkart, the phone comes bundled with a Reliance Jio double data benefit offering 28GB+28GB at Rs 309 along with ICICI credit card cashback.
Samsung Galaxy S8+ (6GB) Specifications and Features:
In terms of specifications, the new Galaxy S8+ sports a 6.2-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with a pixel resolution of 1440×2960 pixels and 529ppi of pixel density. The Samsung Galaxy S8+ houses a dual-edge curved Infinity display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio, which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, IP68 dust and water resistant technology. The display is certified by the UHD Alliance as Mobile HDR Premium. The Indian variant of the Galaxy S8+ comes with a 64-bit Exynos 8895 octa-Core processor that bears a quad-core unit clocked at 2.35GHz and another quad-core unit clocked at 1.9GHz. In terms of memory, the smartphone is backed by a 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. Talking about its software fronts, the device runs on Samsung’s proprietary TouchWiz UI, based on Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
In terms of photography, the Galaxy S8+ smartphone comes equipped with a 12-megapixel rear camera with Dual Pixel technology, optical image stabilisation and an f/1.7 aperture. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with smart autofocus and an f/1.7 aperture. The rear camera also is capable of recording 4K UHD videos at 30 fps, 1080p Full-HD videos at 30 fps or 60 fps.
On the connectivity front, the Galaxy S8+ supports a hybrid dual-SIM configuration. Connectivity options on the Samsung Galaxy S8+ also include 4G voLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz, 5GHz), Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, NFC, GLONASS and a USB Type-C port for superfast data transfer and charging. Sensors on the device include an ambient light sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, heart rate sensor, barometer, and magnetometer. The smartphone also supports Samsung Pay and MST connectivity and comes with a fingerprint scanner, iris scanner and facial recognition for high-grade security.
The Galaxy S8+ is fuelled by a 3500mAh battery with fast charging support as well as wireless charging. The company claims that the battery is rated to deliver up to 24 hrs of talk time, up to 18 hrs of video playback, and up to 15 hrs of internet browsing. Apart from these specs, the smartphone also features a dedicated button for the company’s Bixby personal AI assistant. The Samsung Galaxy S8+ measures 159.5 x 73.4 x 8.1 mm and weighs 173 grams.
