After launching the Selfie 2 camera-centric smartphone in India in July, domestic handset manufacturer Micromax Informatics on Friday officially announced the launch of its latest selfie-centric smartphone, christened as the “Micromax Selfie 3” in the Indian market. Priced at Rs. 11,999, the new Micromax Selfie 3 is now already made available for purchase in India via all leading offline retail outlets across the country in Black colour option. The new Micromax Selfie 3 is an upgraded variant of the company’s previous “Canvas Selfie 3”, which was launched in India in 2015. The key highlights of the smartphone are its 16-megapixel selfie camera, 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, 5-inch Full-HD display, a heavy-duty 3,000mAh battery, and soft selfie-flash for capturing bright selfies even in low light conditions.

Technically speaking, the Micromax Selfie 3 comes equipped with a 5-inch full-HD IPS Display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1280 pixels and scratch resistance 2.5D curved glass coating on top. Under the hood, the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor coupled with 3GB of DDR3 RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via a MicroSD card. Talking about its software front, Micromax Selfie 3 runs company’s own custom UI skin, based on Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
For photography, the Micromax Selfie 3 features a 13-megapixel rear camera with Sony sensor, an f/2.0 aperture, and an LED flash. The rear camera also supports features like Auto Scene Detection, Super Pixel mode, Portrait mode, Panorama, HDR and Night mode. The Super Pixel technology lets you capture super clear images with minimum noise and glare. On the front, the smartphone sports a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with a Samsung sensor and an LED flash for capturing bright selfies even in low light situations.
On the connectivity front, the dual-SIM Micromax Selfie 3 supports dual SIM dual standby, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/A-GPS, FM Radio, a 3.5mm audio jack and microUSB port for charging and other connectivity. On the battery front, the device comes loaded with a decent 3,000mAh non-removable battery that is rated to deliver up to 11 hours of talk time, up to 22 hours of music playback time and up to 250 hours of standby time.
