Swipe Technologies on Tuesday launched a new variant of its ELITE Star smartphone which was first launched in December last year only with 8GB internal storage. Recently, the company launched the enhanced memory variant of ELITE Star with 16GB of onboard storage. However, the new Gold variant of ELITE Star with 1GB of RAM & 8GB of ROM is priced at Rs 3,699 and the enhanced variant with 1GB of RAM & 16GB of ROM is available at Rs 3,999 in Black & White colour. All the variants of Swipe ELITE star are available for sale exclusively on e-commerce website Flipkart.com.
Talking about the launch of the new Gold variant of Swipe ELITE Star, Shripal Gandhi, founder & CEO of Swipe said, “To cater to the large entry-level population, we have re-designed the popular Elite Star smartphone keeping in mind their unique needs. Also, keeping in mind the linguistic preference of the target users, we have designed the phone to operate on the Indian regional languages with the innovative Indus OS that eliminates the language barrier among people, and helps us move towards a cashless economy.” The company also mentioned the huge demand of the gold colour variant behind the launch.
Talking about its specifications, Swipe ELITE Star smartphone features a 4-inch WVGA display with a resolution of 480 pixels by 800 pixels. The device is powered by a 1.5GHZ quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. The Swipe ELITE Star comes in two internal storage options of 8GB and 16GB, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. Talking about its software front, the Swipe ELITE Star runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based Indus OS (home-grown Android-based operating system maker). Swipe ELITE Star also comes with OS-based features such as Indus Swipe, Indus Reader, Indus Messaging, Word and Matra prediction, and a Hybrid Keyboard that supports 12 regional languages.
In terms of optics, the Swipe ELITE Star features a 5-megapixel primary camera on the rear with LED flash and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a MicroUSB port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the device include Proximity, G-sensor, and Gestures Support. The Swipe ELITE Star is fuelled by a 2000mAh battery that comes with rapid-charge technology. The smartphone measures at 125.5 x 64.6 x 10.6 mm.
