The Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi on Thursday announced its partnership with the Indian telecom giant Reliance Jio to offer up to 30GB of additional 4G data benefits for existing Xiaomi users or those consumers who plan to buy a new Xiaomi smartphone. Under the Xiaomi-Jio additional data offer, customers buying a new Xiaomi smartphone can avail up to 30GB of additional 4G data. Note that, the new offer is only applicable for selected Xiaomi smartphones only that include Xiaomi Redmi 2, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi Note 4G, Redmi Note 4G Prime, Mi 4i, Redmi Note 3, Mi 5, Mi Max, Mi Max Prime, Redmi 3s, Redmi 3s Plus, Redmi 3s Prime, Redmi Note 4, Redmi 4A, and Redmi 4. The pre-condition is that the selected Xiaomi smartphones users or buyers must have had the Reliance Jio 4G VoLTE subscription activated on these smartphones on or after June 16, 2017.

The announcement comes just two days after Gionee announced its partnership with Reliance Jio to offer up to 60GB 4G mobile data benefits with the purchase of select Gionee smartphones. Vodafone also announced its partnership with HMD Global to provide additional 4G data benefits on purchase of newly launched Android-powered Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 smartphones in India.

However, for these aforementioned eligible Xiaomi smartphones, Reliance Jio is offering 5GB of additional 4G data on a recharge of Rs. 309 and above. There is an upper limit of up to six recharges, and the offer is valid until March 31, 2018. With the maximum limit of 6 recharges, a user can avail up to 30GB of additional 4G data for free. To grab this new offer, you have to register your number in “Jio Prime” membership plan. Under the Reliance Jio terms and conditions, this additional 4G data voucher worth 5GB will be credited to the eligible subscriber’s account within 48 hours after doing the recharge.

In order to activate this additional 4G data offer on Xiaomi smartphones, users will need to download the MyJio app from Google Play Store to manage their account. In MyJio app, users will have to go to the ‘My Vouchers’ option, followed by ‘View Voucher’ and ‘Recharge my number’ and ‘confirm recharge’. Then it will show a notification for a successful recharge. Jio says the additional data offer will be expired or discontinued if Xiaomi smartphone users switch to another smartphone.

Here’s how to get the offer:

  1. Download MyJio App
  2. Open MyJio App
  3. Click on My Vouchers
  4. View Voucher
  5. Recharge my number
