As it was certain to happen, the result has come for this Diwali’s big release in Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal Again, and it’s (kind of) smashed Amir Khan-Zaira Wasim starrer, Secret Superstar on the domestic box-office, with a huge margin. The film starring Ajay Devgan, Tabu, Parineeti Chopra, Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Khemu, Tusshar Kapoor and Arshad Warsi started off on a very bright note on Friday.
As per the report by BoxOfficeIndia.com, the fourth installment in the hit franchise took in around Rs.31.23 crore on day 1, across the country. That’s really a big-big number, as far as the opening day itself is concerned, but a bit lower than what was predicted by many trade analysts.
Secret Superstar, in comparison had opened its account with a rather lower figure of around Rs.4 crore, on Thursday-the eve of Diwali.
Interestingly, Golmaal Again’s massive collections, being Rs.12.25 crore, were from Mumbai itself and another Rs.6.20 crore came in from Delhi/UP area. Rest came in from other States and territories.
And its just the opening week for the comedy/entertainer and its more obvious that it will only rise from here, to make and break this year’s numerous box-office records.
