After introducing the W2 4G-enable smartphone in India in July this year, Chinese smartphone manufacturer lephone on Monday launched a new entry-level handset, dubbed as the “lephone W15” in the Indian tech market. Priced at Rs. 5,499, the new lephone W15 is now already made available for purchase in India via all online retailers as well as all leading offline retail stores across the country in Red, Gold, Silver and Rose Gold colour options. Carried a such an attractive price tag, the lephone W15 comes with several smart and brilliant features including 22 Indian regional languages, 4G VoLTE connectivity support, Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS along with a wide range of symbols and emojis for better text communication.

In terms of design, the lephone W15 sports a sleek metal unibody design with curved edges, giving it an overall fresh and classy look. The new smartphone features three capacitive navigation buttons and a 2.5D curved glass on the front panel of the device. The volume up-down keys and the power/lock button are all placed on the left-hand edge of the smartphone. The rear panel of the smartphone houses an 8MP rear camera setup with a LED flash module, while the top front panel features a 5MP selfie camera, sensors, and an earpiece.

In terms of specifications, the lephone W15 comes equipped with a 5-inch HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels and a scratch resistance 2.5D curved glass coating on top of the display. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad core processor clubbed with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded via a separate dedicated microSD card slot. On the software front, the lephone W15 runs on Google’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system out-of-the-box.

For photography, the lephone W15 sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and single LED flash. On the front, the device features a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter for capturing selfies and making video calls.

In terms of connectivity, the dual-SIM supported lephone W15 offers various connectivity options including 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, FM Radio, USB OTG support, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the device include an Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, and Proximity sensor. On the battery front, the lephone W15 comes loaded with a 2,000mAh removable battery. As we mentioned earlier, the lephone W15 also comes pre-loaded with Indian regional lingoes that enables communication in 22 regional languages including Hindi, Assamese, Punjabi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Nepali, Bodo, Telugu, Urdu, Sindhi, Odia, Sanskrit, Kashmiri, Dogri, Maithili, Santhali, Konkani, and Manipuri.
