Soon after launching the Eluga Ray 500 and Eluga 700 smartphones in India, Japanese multinational electronics giant Panasonic has expanded its Eluga Ray series of smartphones portfolio with the launch of a new budget-oriented smartphone, called the “Panasonic Eluga I4” in the Indian tech market. Carried a price tag of Rs. 8,290, the new Panasonic Eluga I4 is now already made available for purchase in India via the company’s brand shops and all Panasonic authorized outlets across the country in Blue, Black and Gold colour options. The main highlights of the Panasonic Eluga I4 are its Android 7.0 Nougat OS stock version, fingerprint sensor, a decent 3,000mAh battery and company’s proprietary AI-powered (Artificial Intelligence) assistant — Arbo. Arbo is a virtual assistant that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to track and learn your daily life activity patterns.
Panasonic Eluga I4 Features and Specifications:
In terms of specifications, the Panasonic Eluga I4 comes equipped with a 5-inch HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and a scratch resistant 2.5D curved glass protection on top. Under the hood, the device is powered by a 1.25GHz MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. On the software front, the handset runs on Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box. The smartphone sports a full-metal unibody design and features a front-mounted fingerprint sensor that is housed underneath a physical Home Button of the smartphone.
In terms of optics, the Panasonic Eluga I4 sports an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus and an LED flash module. On the front, the handset features a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for making video calls and capturing selfies.
Connectivity options offered by the Panasonic Eluga I4 include dual-SIM dual standby using (Hybrid dual-SIM slot), 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, FM Radio, USB OTG, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the smartphone include an Accelerometer, Proximity Sensor, Ambient Light Sensor, and Fingerprint Sensor (front-mounted). On the battery front, the Panasonic Eluga I4 comes loaded with a powerful 3,000mAh lithium-ion battery. Dimension wise, the handset measures 146.7 × 71.3 × 8.3mm and measures 150.7 grams.
