After launching the Galaxy J7 Pro and Galaxy J7 Max in India last month, South Korean tech giant Samsung on Friday launched a new camera-centric smartphone, called the “Samsung Galaxy On Max” in the Indian tech market. Carried a price tag of Rs. 16,900, the new Galaxy On Max smartphone will be made available for purchase starting July 10 (Monday) exclusively via e-commerce website Flipkart.com in Black and Gold colour options. As a part of an introductory offer, Flipkart is giving flat Rs. 2,000 off on the purchase of Samsung Galaxy On Max with Standard Chartered bank credit or debit cards.
The Samsung Galaxy On Max supports the feature like Samsung Pay Mini feature and an industry-first Social Camera Mode. The simple and secure Samsung Pay Mini payment solution is a light version of the Samsung Pay, that works on all Android (Android 5.0 Lollipop and above) smartphones sporting an HD display without NFC feature. The Samsung Pay Mini payment feature also supports mobile payment services like UPI and mobile wallets like Paytm.
On the other hand, Social Camera Mode on the Galaxy On Max brings to the users a new way of using their smartphone camera by instant sharing and instant editing. Users can now pin their favourite contacts on social networking apps like Instagram and Facebook within the camera app and share their moments as they click. The instant Share & Edit feature helps users to create engaging social media-ready content on-the-go by applying live stickers or live filters, and share it instantly with social media apps.
The major highlights of the smartphone are its best-in-class camera with f/1.7 aperture, premium built quality, 4GB RAM, 5.7-inch full-HD display, a blazing-fast processor, Samsung Pay Mini service and Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
Samsung Galaxy On Max Design:
In terms of design, the Samsung Galaxy On Max sports an all-metal metal unibody design with curved metal edges, meaning that the phone comes with a premium build quality. The smartphone features capacitive navigation buttons and a front-mounted fingerprint sensor, that is housed underneath a capsule-sized physical Home Button of the devices. The volume up-down keys are placed on the left-hand edge of the device, while the power/lock button is located at the right-hand edge of the smartphone. A 3.5mm audio socket and a microUSB 2.0 charging port are all placed on the very bottom edge of the device. The rear panel of the handset houses a 13MP camera setup with a LED flash module, while the top front panel features an another 13MP selfie camera, an earpiece and a soft LED flash.
Samsung Galaxy On Max Specifications:
As far as specifications are concerned, the Samsung Galaxy On Max comes equipped with a 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1280 pixels and a 2.5D cover glass coating on top. The device is powered by a Mediatek MTK P25 Lite octa-core (4 x 2.39GHz & 4 x 1.69GHz) processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via a dedicated micro SD card slot. Talking about its software front, the Galaxy On Max runs company’s TouchWiz custom UI skin, based on Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
In terms of optics, the Galaxy On Max houses a 13-megapixel rear sensor with autofocus, LED flash, and a larger f/1.7 aperture for great low-light photography. The rear camera is also capable of shooting videos in full HD (1080p) resolution at 30 fps. On the front, there is an another 13-megapixel front-facing shooter with a f/1.9 aperture and a LED flash for capturing selfies and video calling even in low light.
Connectivity options on the device include dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, hotspot, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, USB OTG, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. On the battery front, the Samsung Galaxy On Max comes packed with a 3,300mAh battery. Dimensionally, it measures 156.6 x 78.7 x 8.1 mm and weighs 178 grams.
