Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd (HMSI), on Thursday launched the 2017 version of the Activa 125 with a host of genuine updates. The new Activa 125 is the first automatic scooter to meet both Bharat Stage-IV emission norms and Automatic Head Lamp On (AHO) as well as LED position lights, according to Indian arm of Japanese two wheeler manufacturer Honda Motorcycle & Scooter. On customer demand, the company has now introduced a new standard variant, which has been priced at Rs 56,954, ex-showroom Delhi.
Apart from the standard trim, new Activa 125 is offered in two variants – the Alloy Drum (with CBS or Combined Braking System) and the Alloy Disc (with CBS). The scooter with alloy wheels and drum brake variant has been priced at Rs 58,900 while the alloy wheels and disc brake variant Activa will come for Rs 61,362 (all prices ex showroom Delhi).
2017 Honda Activa 125 Specs, Design, Features, Colors
Engine:
Talking about engine, the 2017 Honda Activa 125 is powered by a 125cc Honda Eco Technology (HET) engine, which generates peak power of 6.35kw (8.52 BHP) at 6,500 RPM and peak torque of 10.54Nm at 5,000 RPM. This air cooled engine is mated to an automatic CVT gearbox (Company’s V-matic CVT – Continuously Variable Transmission) that sends the power to the rear wheel and the powertrain has a claimed top speed of 85 kmph. Moreover, the new Activa 125cc also gets the BS-IV engine that reduces emission level which is approved by Indian government.
Design:
The new Activa 125 now comes with mild change in the apron, the front/face gets new LED position lights integrated into the premium front chrome chest between indicator lights and a larger 3D Honda badge for more differentiated style. Honda has also provided a new mobile-charging socket and a retractable front hook to offer more convenience features to customers.
Features:
The key feature of the new Honda Activa is the AHO or Automatic Headlamp On, is a new Government notification effective April 1, 2017. AHO, that gives the rider an improved visibility of the vehicle in all weather conditions (rain, fog, dawn, dusk, etc). As per government notification, the headlamp of all two-wheelers manufactured in India should be equipped to automatically turn on as vehicle starts to improve visibility and to reduce the risk of accident on road in all conditions.
All variants offered in the new Honda Activa 125 range will also have Combined Braking System or CBS with Equalizer technology, that balances braking inputs on both wheels when the left lever is pulled and helps reduce stopping distances while helping the new Activa maintain its balance. CBS or Combined Braking System, that feature will become a mandatory for safety by April 1, 2018 for two-wheelers with 125 cc or lower capacity.
Colors:
The all new Activa 125cc is now available in five different colors options- Pearl Amazing White, Black, Midnight Blue Metallic, Rebel Red Metallic and a brand new Mat Crust Metallic color.
