In 2014, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Xiaomi announced its first tablet, the Mi Pad with a plastic-back cover. The Mi Pad also came with very powerful hardware but with an affordable price tag. A year later, Xiaomi released its second-gen tablet, Mi Pad 2, that tweaked the formula with the introduction of a metal body and an Intel chipset, capable of running both Android and Windows 10. The Mi Pad 2 was limited just to the Chinese market, while the Mi Pad was later made available in India.
Today, after many rumours and leaks, Xiaomi has finally announced its third iteration of Android tablet, Mi Pad 3, in China. The latest Mi Pad 3 is launched, along with few other gadgets like Xiaomi 360-degree camera and others. The new tablet has been listed on the company’s Chinese website. The Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 is priced at 1499 Yuan in China which is approximately Rs 14,139. The company did not release any information whether or not the Mi Pad 3 tablet will hit the Indian market.
Talking about the design, the Mi Pad 3 comes with a metal body, same as the previous version of the tablet. You might find no difference in the design of the new Mi Pad 3 and last year’s Mi Pad 2, but Mi Pad 3 features some hardware improvements. You still get an overall design resembling Apple’s iPads, a metallic unibody and a textured rear panel that is said to offer a strong grip when in hand. The measurements are similar to its predecessor, the Mi Pad 3 weighs slight heavier at 328 grams.
