The Japanese electronics company Panasonic on Friday added two new members to company’s mid-range smartphone portfolio with the launch of Eluga Ray and P85 smartphones in India. The Panasonic Eluga Ray is priced at Rs 7,999 whereas the Panasonic P85 has been launched at a price tag of Rs 6,499. Both the new smartphones will be made available exclusively on e-commerce website Flipkart starting from May 15.
As part of the Flipkart Big Billion Days sale (Big 10 Sale), which will be held between 14 and 18 May, the smartphones will also be available with an additional discount on exchange. In the case of the Panasonic Eluga Ray, the company is giving an additional discount on exchange of Rs. 1,000, bringing the price to as low as Rs. 6,999. And for Panasonic P85, the company is providing an additional discount of Rs. 1,500, bringing the price to as low as Rs. 4,999.
Panasonic Eluga Ray specifications and features: –
The main highlight of the Panasonic Eluga Ray is that it features and artificial intelligence (AI) assistant, called Arbo. Arbo is a virtual assistant that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to track and learn your daily life activity patterns.
In terms of specifications, the Panasonic Eluga Ray features a 5-inch HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 64bit MediaTek Quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. The device is backed by 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via micro SD card slot. On the software front, Panasonic Eluga Ray runs on Google’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. Panasonic Eluga Ray also sports a fingerprint scanner for biometric security.
In terms of photography, Eluga Ray sports a 13-megapixel camera with flash. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter for video calling and capturing selfies.
Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS/A-GPS, FM with RDS, Bluetooth, USB OTG support, and a microUSB port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the device include ambient light sensor, accelerometer, and proximity sensor. The Panasonic Eluga Ray is fuelled by a massive 4000mAh battery. The smartphone measures at 144.4 x 71.6 x 9.7mm and weighs 169 grams.

Coming to the Panasonic P85 smartphone specifications, it sports a 5-inch HD display with a screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 1.0 GHz Quad-core Processor which is coupled with 2GB of RAM. In terms of storage option, the device comes with 16GB of internal storage option, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via micro SD card slot. But unlike the Eluga Ray, the dual-SIM Panasonic P85 doesn’t come with the “Arbo” personal assistant. Like the Panasonic Eluga Ray, Panasonic P85 is also running Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
In terms of photography, Panasonic P85 sports an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash. On the front, there is a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter for video calling and capturing selfies.

The smartphone measures at 145 x 72.2 x 9.35mm and weighs 146.7 grams.
