After launching the Zenfone Go 5.5 smartphone earlier this month, the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer Asus on Wednesday added an another member, the “Asus ZenFone Live (ZB501KL)” to its Zenfone smartphone series. Priced at Rs 9,999 in India, the Asus Zenfone Live (ZB501KL) will be made available for purchase from May 24 (Wednesday) via e-commerce website Flipkart.com and other offline retailers. The Asus’s new smartphone comes in Navy Black, Shimmer Gold, and Rose Pink colour options. The main highlight of the Asus ZenFone Live is its real-time beautification camera with ‘world’s first live streaming beautification technology’. The BeautyLive app is a live-streaming app that removes blemishes in real-time. The Asus ZenFone Live is also equipped with a dual MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) microphones to get a clear voice quality.

In terms of specifications, the Asus ZenFone Live comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels at a pixel density of 294 pixels per inch and 2.5D curved glass coating on top of the display. The display also features a Bluelight Filter that is helpful for user’s eyes during prolonged usage. The Zenfone Live (ZB501KL) is powered by a 64-bit Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, coupled with dedicated GPU to handle the graphics. In terms of memory storage, the smartphone is backed by a 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. On the software front, the device runs company’s own custom ZenUI 3.0 skin, based on Google’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. ZenUI 3.0 skin comes with exciting new features for a simpler, secure and more personalized experience.
In terms of photography, the Asus Zenfone Live (ZB501KL) features a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, 5p lens and dual LED real tone flash to ensure high quality, sharp and clear photographs. On the front, the phone sports a 5-megapixel camera with 1.4-micron pixel size sensor, f/2.2 aperture, 82˚ wide view angle lens and soft light LED flash for capturing bright selfies and video calling. In addition, the Asus PixelMaster 3.0 camera app offers multiple modes to enhance the photography experience further such as – Back Light (HDR) Mode, Low Light Mode, Night Mode, Manual Mode (for DSLR-like camera detail settings), Real Time Beautification Mode, Photo Effect Mode, Super Resolution Mode (for up to 4X resolution photos), Selfie Panorama, Selfie Mode.
In terms of connectivity, Asus Zenfone Live (ZB501KL) offers dual-SIM dual standby connectivity option. Connectivity options also include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), WiFi-Direct, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS/A-GPS, Glonass, FM Radio, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the smartphone include Accelerator, Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, and E-Compass sensor. The Asus ZenFone Live (ZB501KL) is fuelled by a 2650mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 24 hours of 3G talk-time, 17.1 hours of Wi-Fi browsing and up to 158.8 hours of standby time. The handset measures 141.2 x 71.7 x 7.9mm and weighs 120 grams.
