
Chinese smartphone manufacturer Qihoo 360 on Tuesday launched its new smartphone, the 360 N5S in the Chinese market. The 360 N5S is an upgraded version of its earlier launched 360 N5 smartphone. Priced at CNY 1699 (approximately Rs. 16,000/$245), the new smartphone will be made available for purchase from June 2 (Friday) through company’s authorised retail store 360 mall as well as the Chinese e-commerce website, Jingdong. The 360 N5S smartphone looks very similar to the recently launched Huawei’s Honor 8 Lite and it will be available in Mirage Black colour option.
360 N5S specifications and features:
Design wise, the 360 N5S sports an unibody design with aluminum body frame all around giving it an overall premium look. The device also comes with glossy finish back body featuring 2.5D curved glass on front and back of the device. The phone also features a 13-megapixel rear camera setup and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, located just middle of the device. The volume rockers as well as the power/lock buttons are placed on the right-hand edge of the device and a 3.5mm audio socket is placed on the very top of the phone. And dual speaker grilles are seen at the bottom edge of the device with a microUSB port sitting in the middle.
In terms of specifications, the 360 N5S sports a 5.5-inch Full-HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 1080 × 1920 pixels and has a pixel density of 401ppi. The device is powered by a 64-bit 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 653(MSM8976Pro) octa-core (A72 1.8GHz x 4 + A53 1.4GHz x4) processor. In terms of memory, the smartphone comes with a 6 GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. Talking about its software front, the dual-SIM 360 N5S phone runs company’s own 360 OS 2.0 custom skin, based on Google’s Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system.
In terms of photography, the new 360 N5S features a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF focus technology and LED flash. On the front, the device has a dual front-facing camera setup with the combination of 13MP primary sensor and 2MP secondary sensor. The front camera features also include Depth of Field (DOF) and DLSR-like BOKEH effect.
In terms of connectivity, the 360 N5S supports dual SIM dual standby and offers various connectivity options including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, WiFi hotspot, GPS/AGPS, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, a 3.5mm Audio port, USB OTG, and a microUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. The 360 N5S comes packed with a powerful 3,730mAh non-removable battery. The battery supports Qualcomm’s Quick charge 3.0 with the 9V/2A (18W) power adapter which can charge the device up to 50% within 30 minutes. The handset measures 153.5 x 76.9 x 8.0 mm and weighs 170 grams.
