Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo had launched the Vivo Xplay6 with 128GB internal storage and 6GB RAM variant in China last year in November at CNY 4498 (approximately Rs. 42,250). Now, the company has just released a new variant of the Xplay6 smartphone in China with 64GB of native storage and 6GB of RAM. The new downgraded variant has been released at a price tag of CNY 3998 (approximately Rs. 37,500) and will be made available for purchase via Chinese e-commerce website JD.com in Gold and Rose Gold colour options.

In terms of specifications, the Vivo Xplay 6 features a 5.46-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED dual curved edge display with a screen resolution of 1440 pixels by 2560 pixels. The device is powered by a powerful 64-bit Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 Quad-Core (dual-core 2.3 GHz Kryo & dual-core 1.6 GHz Kryo) processor, paired with Adreno 530 GPU to handle the graphics. In terms of memory, Vivo Xplay 6 comes with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage capacity, which can’t be further expanded due to absence of microSD card slot. Talking about its software fronts, Vivo Xplay 6 runs company’s own Funtouch 3.0 OS, based on Google’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The Vivo Xplay6 sports a full metal design and comes with a fingerprint scanner, that is housed underneath the Home Button and is claimed to unlock the phone just within 0.2 seconds.
In terms of photography, the Vivo Xplay6 packs a 12-megapixel primary rear sensor and 5-megapixel secondary rear camera. The primary rear camera features include an f/1.7 aperture, Sony IMX362 sensor, 1.4µm Pixel Size, 4-axis Optical Image Stabilization, Geo-tagging, Touch Focus, Face Detection, Auto HDR, Panorama. On the front, there is a 16-megapixel front-facing shooter for video calling and capturing selfies.
In terms of connectivity, the Vivo Xplay6 offers dual-SIM dual standby connectivity option that accepts Micro-SIM and Micro-SIM. Connectivity options also include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, WiFi-Direct, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/A-GPS, Glonass, a 3.5mm audio jack with a dedicated DAC and amp, USB OTG, FM Radio, and a microUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the smartphone include Accelerometer, Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, Magnetic Field sensor (Compass), Gyroscope and Fingerprint sensor. The Vivo Xplay6 is fuelled by a massive 4080mAh non-removable Li-Po battery. The handset measures 153.8 x 73.55 x 8.4 mm (height x width x thickness) with a total weight of 178 grams (including battery).
