This will no doubt be joyous news for kids as well as all those adults whose adoration for the worldwide blockbuster game can literally termed as an addiction.
That said, Sony Pictures has now announced that The Angry Birds Movie 2, the sequel to last year’s The Angry Birds Movie will hit theatres on September 20, 2019. The release date has an important significance as it coincides with the tenth anniversary of the smash hit video-game.
Sony Pictures also announced that they are teaming up once again with Rovio Entertainment Ltd. for the animated sequel after the first installment went on to gross $350 million worldwide.
Thurop Van Orman will take charge of the directorial duties for with John Rice serving as co-director based on a screenplay written by Pete Ackerman and John Cohen producing it. The animation will be done by Sony Pictures Imageworks in collaboration with Sony Pictures Animation.
