After launching the Eluga Ray and P85 smartphones in India earlier this month, the Japanese smartphone maker Panasonic on Wednesday added a new smartphone, dubbed as Panasonic Eluga I3 Mega in its Eluga smartphone series. Panasonic Eluga I3 Mega has been found listed on the Panasonic India’s official website. Panasonic Eluga I3 Mega is the successor of the company’s Eluga I3, which was launched in April last year. The Panasonic Eluga I3 Mega will be made available for purchase starting Wednesday at all Panasonic authorised outlets in Champagne Gold and Silver colour variant.
Priced at Rs 11,490 (approximately $178), the handset features a full metal body with 2.5D curved glass IPS screen on the front. In terms of design, the mid-range Panasonic Eluga I3 Mega looks very similar to its younger sibling, Panasonic Eluga Ray Max (back part). The volume rockers as well as the power/lock buttons are placed on the right-hand edge of the smartphone and a 3.5mm audio socket is housed on the very top edge of the device. The speaker grilles are seen at the bottom edge of the handset along with a microUSB 2.0 port sitting in the middle. The smartphone also houses onscreen navigation buttons while the top panel of the device sports the selfie camera, and the earpiece.

In terms of specifications, the Eluga I3 Mega sports a 5.5-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display with a screen resolution of 720 × 1280 pixels. The device is powered by a quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek 6735 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the Eluga I3 Mega comes with 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. On the software front, the handset runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.
In terms of photography, the Panasonic Eluga I3 Mega features a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, 80-degree wide-angle lens and LED flash. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for making video calls and capturing selfies.
In terms of connectivity, this dual SIM smartphone offers 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, FM Radio, USB OTG, and a microUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. Sensors onboard the smartphone include Accelerometer, Gravity sensor, Proximity sensor, and Ambient Light Sensor. The Panasonic Eluga I3 Mega comes packed with a powerful 4000mAh non-removable battery. Dimension wise, it measures 154.6 x 77 x 9.4mm (height x width x thickness) and weighs 180 grams.
