A while back, there were reports about a screenwriter named K. Rajasekaran, who had apparently lodged a police complaint against Rajinikanth, Dhanush and director Pa. Ranjith over the claim that the story for the upcoming Tamil film Kaala had been lifted from the one he had narrated to Rajini almost 20 years back. In his complaint, he further stated the film’s title too had been borrowed from his story and demanded that the shoot be brought to an immediate stop until the makers acquire the story rights.
The matter has now come under the observation of a Civil Court in Chennai and a notice has been issued summoning Rajinikanth, Dhanush, and Pa. Ranjith for plagiarism charges. In the summons, a court hearing has been ordered by the judge for the case on June 15, 2017.All three parties are expected to file in their replies by the said date.
Let’s hope all issues are resolved at the earliest.
