Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei on Friday updated its Enjoy series smartphone portfolio with the launch of a new mid-range handset, dubbed as “Huawei Enjoy 7” in the Chinese tech market. The new Huawei Enjoy 7 is the standard variant of the company’s previous Enjoy 7 Plus model, which was launched in April this year.
The new Enjoy 7 comes in two different variants based on their RAM and internal storage capacity: The 2GB RAM with 16GB internal storage variant of the Huawei Enjoy 7 will be available at a price tag of CNY 899 (roughly Rs. 8,500), while for the top-end variant with 3GB RAM with 32GB of internal storage variant, you have to pay CNY 1,099 (roughly Rs. 10,400). The new Huawei Enjoy 7 is now listed on Huawei’s official China website for pre-booking and will be made available for purchase in China starting July 15 (Saturday) via company’s official online store, Vmall.com and other authorised dealers in Champagne Gold, Black and Pink colour options.
In terms of design, the Huawei Enjoy 7 comes with an all-metal unibody design with metal frame all around, giving it an overall premium look. The Enjoy 7 features onscreen navigation buttons and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, located just middle of the device. The fingerprint scanner is claimed to unlock the device just within 0.5 seconds. The volume rockers as well as the power/lock buttons are placed on the right-hand edge of the smartphone and a 3.5mm audio socket is placed on the very top edge of the device. The speaker grilles are seen at the bottom edge of the handset along with a microUSB 2.0 port sitting in the middle.
In terms of specifications, the Huawei Enjoy 7 sports a 5-inch HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 720 × 1280 pixels and a 2.5D curved glass coating on top of the display. The device is powered by a 1.4 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor along with Adreno 308 GPU to handle the graphics. In terms of memory, the smartphone is backed up by a 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. Talking about its software front, the Huawei Enjoy 7 runs company’s proprietary EMUI 5.1 custom UI skin, based on Google’s latest Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
In terms of photography, the Huawei Enjoy 7 features a 13-megapixel rear camera with Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and LED flash. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel camera for making video calls and capturing selfies.
In terms of connectivity, the Huawei Enjoy 7 offers various connectivity options including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/A-GPS, a 3.5 mm audio jack and a microUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. Sensors on the device include Fingerprint sensor (rear-mounted), Ambient light sensor, Accelerometer, and Proximity sensor. On the battery front, the device is fuelled by a 3,020mAh battery with smart electricity 5.0 technology support for long battery life. Dimension wise, the handset measures 143.5 x 71 x 8.05 mm and weighs 145 grams.
