Huawei’s sub-brand Honor recently launched its premium flagship smartphone, Honor 8 Pro in the Indian tech market earlier this month. Priced at Rs. 29,999, the Honor 8 Pro will go on sale in India today at 6:00 PM IST exclusively via e-commerce website Amazon India, as a part of the Amazon Prime Day Sale. Note that, the first early access sale of the Honor 8 Pro is exclusive for Amazon Prime members only, while the open sale for the Honor 8 Pro is scheduled to happen at 12 PM IST on the same e-commerce platform on July 13 (Thursday). The e-commerce website Amazon India is all set to hold its first Amazon Prime Day Sale in India today at 6:00 PM IST, where the several smartphones, gadgets and other electronic products will be available at lucrative prices. The Amazon Prime Day Sale will begin today at 6 PM IST and will be live on Amazon until Tuesday night (July 11). As part of the exclusive launch offer, Amazon is giving some exciting offers on purchase of the Honor 8 Pro smartphone. The Prime Day Sale offers on the smartphone include 15% cashback of up to Rs 2,000 on HDFC Bank Credit or Debit cards and worth Rs. 1,100 discount from MakeMyTrip, BookMyShow and Swiggy.com.
Honor 8 Pro Specifications:
In terms of specifications, the Honor 8 Pro comes equipped with a 5.7-inch QHD LTPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and has a pixel density of 515ppi. The device is powered by a 2.4GHz HiSilicon Kirin 960 octa-core (4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A53 and 4×2.4 GHz Cortex-A73) processor coupled with Mali-G71 MP8 GPU to handle the graphics. In terms of memory, the Honor 8 Pro is backed up by a 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 128GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card. Talking about its software front, the smartphone runs company’s proprietary Emotion UI 5.1 custom UI skin, based on Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
The company claims that EMUI 5.1 custom UI skin provides an in-depth customization and refreshing new interpretation of Android 7.0. With a brand new redesigned interface, over 90% of core operations can be completed in just 3 steps. And new features like Eye Comfort Mode helps you filter out blue light and provides relief to visual fatigue
The smartphone also features an IR Blaster that can be used as a remote to control third-party electronics & appliances like set-top boxes, audio consoles, TVs, fans, air conditioners or DVD players.
In terms of optics, the new Honor 8 Pro houses a dual rear camera setup that comes combined with 12-megapixel RGB sensor and a 12-megapixel monochrome sensor. The rear camera features also include an f/2.2 aperture, laser autofocus, LED flash and support 4K UHD video recording at 30fps. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter with f/2.0 aperture for capturing selfies and making video calls. The front camera is capable of recording 1080p full-HD videos at 60fps.
In terms of connectivity, the Honor 8 Pro supports dual-SIM dual standby using the hybrid SIM configuration (Micro-SIM + Nano-SIM/microSD) slot. That means you can either use this as a dual-SIM phone without memory card option or single-SIM phone with memory card option. Other connectivity options on the device include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, GPS/A-GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB-Type C port for superfast charging and data transfer.
Sensors on the device include Fingerprint (rear-mounted), Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Ambient Light sensor, Digital Compass sensor, and Proximity sensor. The Honor 8 Pro is fuelled by a high-density 4000mAh non-removable battery that is rated to deliver up to 16 hours of talktime and up to 453 hours of standby time. Dimension wise, the handset measures at 157.0 x 77.50 x 6.97mm and weighs 184 grams. In India, the Honor 8 Pro will be made available in two body colour options — Navy Blue and Midnight Black.
