Soon after launching the Helium 14 notebook in India, Home-bred consumer electronics company Lava International on Tuesday launched a new budget-oriented smartphone, dubbed as the “Lava A93” in the Indian tech market. Priced at Rs. 7,999, the new Lava A93 is currently listed on company’s official website, revealing almost everything about the smartphone. Sadly, the smartphone doesn’t support 4G LTE connectivity, Lava has introduced the A93 in India as 3G-enabled smartphone. Carried a such an attractive price tag, the Lava A93 will compete against the Xiaomi Redmi 4, Redmi 4A, Moto C Plus, Karbonn Auro Note 2, and the recently launched InFocus Turbo 5. However, the new Lava A93 will be made available in two body colour options including Gold and Grey.

In terms of design, the Lava A93 sports a full-metal unibody design with metal frame all around, giving it an overall premium look. The volume up-down keys and the power/lock button are all placed on the right-hand edge of the device and a 3.5mm audio jack is placed on the very top of the phone. The Lava A93 is seen sporting capacitive navigation buttons, just below the display panel, while the top display panel houses a selfie camera, LED flash and an earpiece. There are two antenna lines running parallel to each other at the top and bottom of the smartphone. The rear panel houses an 8MP camera, LED flash and a speaker grille.

In terms of specifications, the Lava A93 sports a 5.5-inch semi-HD display with a screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The device is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. Talking about its software fonts, the Lava A93 runs Google’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system out-of-the-box.

For photography, the Lava A93 features an 8-megapixel rear sensor with autofocus and an LED flash module. On the front, there is a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter with an LED flash for capturing bright selfies even in low light. The rear camera features include HD video recording, HDR, Grid, and Photo Timer.

On the connectivity front, the dual-SIM Lava A93 smartphone offers various connectivity options including 3G/EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, FM Radio, USB OTG, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. The new Lava handset is fuelled by a 3000mAh Li-ion battery with Power Saver Mode support. Apart from this, the Lava A93 also supports features like Smart Screenshot, Video PIP, Smart Music and Smart Gestures. Dimensionally, the smartphone measures 145 x 72.2 x 8.85mm and weighs 152 grams.
