Soon after launching the Moto E4 Plus in India, now it seems like the Lenovo-backed Motorola is all set to announce its another new smartphone on July 25 (Tuesday) in New York. The company has already started sending out the media invites for #hellomotoworld press event, which is scheduled to take place at 11:00 am EST (8:30 PM IST) on Tuesday, July 25 in New York. The recent teaser image shared by the company shows an image of broken smartphone displays, company logo, with a bold line “get ready to shatter your expectations,” meaning that the upcoming smartphone will sport a Motorola’s revolutionary ShatterShield display with shatter-proofing technology, same as the Moto Z Force Droid and Droid Turbo 2.
Though the press invite doesn’t reveal any clear information about the upcoming Moto smartphones or which specific smartphone will launch at the event, it is likely to be the Motorola’s high-end Moto Z2 Force smartphone. Some people say the new device could be the high-end Moto Z2, other people say it might be the mid-range Moto X4, as the multiple rumours have already been leaked about the Moto smartphones.
However, there are numerous leaks and rumours about the Moto Z2 Force have been surfaced on the various websites from the last couple of months. Moto Z2 Force has been subjected to multiple leaks ahead of the launch which does reveal a gist of specifications and features about the premium device. If the rumours and leaks are to be believed, the Moto Z2 Force would see a significant overhaul in terms of specifications and arrive with a host of improvements.
As per the AnTuTu Benchmark listing, the Moto Z2 Force will have a 5.5-inch AMOLED QHD ShatterShield, shatterproof display with a screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The device is expected to be powered by a 2.45GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor coupled with 6GB of RAM and Adreno 540 GPU. There is a possibility that the device may come in two variants, one with 4GB and another with 6GB RAM. The Moto Z2 Force is tipped to offer 128GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded via a microSD card. In terms of photography, the Moto Z2 Force is expected to sport a 12-megapixel dual camera setup at the back and a front-mounted fingerprint scanner as well. For connectivity, the Moto Z2 Force will feature a USB Type-C port. Connectivity options also include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 and 5 GHz), GPS with GLONASS, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC. On the software front, the 4G-enabled smartphone is expected to run on Google’s latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system out-of-the-box.
On the other hand, the Moto Z2 is expected to be powered by a 1.90 GHz Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 (MSM8998) octa-core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. The smartphone will also come with dual rear camera setup, 64GB of internal storage, and front-mounted fingerprint scanner. Moving on the Moto X4, the smartphone will have a 5.2-inch full-HD (1920×1080) display. The phone is likely to come with a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 octa-core processor, Adreno 508 GPU, 4GB RAM and 64GB native storage. Other rumoured specifications include a 12MP + 8MP Dual rear camera setup, 16-megapixel front camera, fingerprint sensor, Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS, and a 3,000mAh battery with Turbo Charging.
