After announcing Yureka Black in the Indian smartphone market last month, Micromax’s sub-brand YU Televentures on Tuesday launched a new budget-oriented smartphone, called the “Yu Yunique 2” in the Indian tech market. Priced at Rs. 5,999, the new Yu Yunique 2 will be made available for purchase in India starting July 27 (Thursday) at 12 PM exclusively via e-commerce website Flipkart.com in Champagne Gold and Coal Black colour options. The Yu Yunique 2 is the successor to the company’s previous Yu Yunique, which was launched in India back in September 2015. However, the main highlights of the Yu Yunique 2 smartphone are its latest Android operating system, 13-megapixel rear camera, 4G VoLTE support, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and Truecaller as a default dialer.
Commenting on the launch of the Yu Yunique 2, Mr Shubhodip Pal, Chief Marketing and Chief Commercial Officer, Micromax and YU, said “With Yunique 2, we are bringing a smartphone that hits the sweet spot of power, performance and style confluence together in one device. It is a smartphone that will be a compelling choice for those new age users who are always multi-tasking. We have worked towards making a difference- not only in the phone’s design language but the overall proposition that is aligned with the needs of our consumers. We are super excited to partner with Flipkart and integrate a true dialer experience through Truecaller. These partnerships will not only help us reach out to the young hyper social consumers but also deliver greater value, a core thought for YU mobiles that resonates across our range of smartphones available in the market.
