Director CS Amudhan who made a mark in Kollywood with his spoof movie ‘Thamizh Padam’ is all set for the sequel of it. The sequel has been titled ‘Thamizh Padam 2.0’ will have actor Mirchi Shiva playing the lead just as in the first part. The team is also keen to cast Bigg Boss fame Oviya as the female lead. The first part which released back in 2010 was the first spoof movie in Tamil. The movie was well received by the audience and was a decent success at the Box-Office. The sequel will be produced by Y-Not Studios Shashikanth.
Rajinikanth’s ‘2.0’ reference:
The sequel has been titled ‘Thamizh Padam 2.0’ which has a comic reference to the upcoming Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer ‘2.0’. The director on his trademark comic style told that the shooting for the film will commence once actor Shiva is back from Bangkok after his intense training schedule. He also requested the media not to compare the duo Martin Scorcesse and Robert Di Niro with him and Mirchi Shiva.
Oviya might play the female lead:
The director in a recent tweet confirmed that the team is keen to make Oviya play the female lead in the movie. Oviya is currently enjoying a huge popularity among fans due to the Bigg Boss show. She would be approached for the role in Thamizh Padam sequel once she is back from the reality show. The director added that its up to her if she decide to take up the role or not.
A laugh riot guaranteed:
The movie ‘Thamizh Padam’ was a comic treat for the audience as it trolled all the cliched elements of Tamil Cinema. The best part is that the film managed to achieve it without creating any controversy. The sequel will also fall on the same lines and the director might focus on movies that released in the last 7 years after the release of first part. The audience will be in for a comic treat with Thamizh Padam 2.0.
