After launching the “Defiant” budget-oriented smartphone in the US last month, Chinese smartphone company Coolpad on Friday expanded its product portfolio with the launch of its first offline exclusive product, dubbed as “Coolpad Note 5 Lite C” in the Indian tech market. Priced at Rs. 7,777, the new Coolpad Note 5 Lite C smartphone will be made available for purchase in India starting August 5 (Saturday) exclusively via 3,000 multi-brand offline retail stores across eight states in the country (Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra) in Grey and Gold colour options. Besides this, the company has also announced that it will launch its next flagship smartphone on August 20 and its next flagship phone will be the Amazon exclusive smartphone.
In terms of design, Coolpad Note 5 Lite C sports an all-metal unibody design with metal frame all around, giving it an overall fresh outlook. The phone also features three capacitive navigation touch buttons and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, located just middle of the device. The volume rockers are placed on the left-hand edge, while the power/lock button is situated on the right-hand edge of the smartphone. A 3.5mm audio socket is placed on the very top edge of the phone, while the speaker grilles are seen at the bottom edge of the handset along with a microUSB 2.0 charging port sitting in the middle. The rear panel of the device houses a fingerprint recognition button, an 8MP camera and an LED flash module, while the top front panel features a 5MP selfie camera, Sensors and the earpiece.
As far as specifications are concerned, the Coolpad Note 5 Lite C flaunts a 5-inch HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 720 × 1280 pixels and a 2.5D curved glass coating on top of the display. Under the hood, the device is powered by a 1.1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 quad-core processor along with Adreno 304 GPU to handle the graphics. In terms of memory, the smartphone is backed up by a 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via a dedicated microSD card slot. Talking about its software front, the Coolpad Note 5 Lite C runs company’s proprietary Cool custom UI skin, based on Google’s latest Android 7.1 Nougat operating system.
For photography, the Coolpad Note 5 Lite C sports an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with Autofocus, f/2.4 aperture, and an LED flash module. On the front, the smartphone features a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter with an f/2.4 aperture for capturing selfies and making video calls.
In terms of connectivity, the dual-SIM Coolpad Note 5 Lite C offers various connectivity options including 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, USB OTG, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microUSB port for charging and data transfer. On the battery front, the Note 5 Lite C comes packed with a decent 2,500mAh battery that is rated deliver up to 240 hours of standby time on a single charge. Sensors on the device include Fingerprint sensor (rear-mounted), Ambient light sensor, Accelerometer, and Proximity sensor. Dimensionally, the handset measures 142.4 x 70.4 x 7.95mm and weighs 139 grams.
