Although it’s still time for the new Netflix series, Marvel’s The Defenders to make its first appearance live from August 18th, the first few episodes and promos have earned the show a quality rating of 80% on Rotten Tomatoes! Now, that’s really something to count on as it can boost the viewership of the fans too.
As far as the rest of the Marvel shows are concerned when looked at from the Rotten Tomatoes’s responses, then Luke Cage, which is yet to make its arrival next year, is on top with 96%. Jessica Jones comes next with 92% (from season 1) and Iron Fist has a mere 17%. On this note, The Defenders will be a crucial series for Netflix as well as Marvel to see how its idea of further expanding the characters and their stories, goes on.
The show is about the assembled team of characters Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), Daredevil (Charlie Cox) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones), who will be on a common mission to save New York City from the superhuman villains.
The upcoming eight-episode series developed by Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez, will also feature Sigourney Weaver as the main villain, Alexandra. There will be some cameos too of the characters from other past seasons of the Marvel shows like Iron Fist, Jessica Jones and Daredevil.
